Girls'
Brigade provides two types of leadership training for people desiring
to work within a company.
Auxiliary
training
This
is for people who would like to help in a company.
The
Church appoints them
and following
CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks need to
-
Be aware of safe practice and
their duty of care
-
Have a basic understanding of
Girls' Brigade
-
Have basic skills that will
enable them to serve practically
-
Understand the responsibilities
of working as part of a team.
In order for auxiliaries to work
effectively Girls' Brigade has deveolped some training which
comprises the following modules.
Pastoral
Care Module:
Child Protection unit
Relationships
Module:
Working with others unit
Brigade Knowledge
Module
One unit of own choice
Practical Skills Module:
Auxilary
training can be undertaken either over
a period of three weekl sessions or in conjunction with the Officer
training weekend.
Officer
Training
The
second type of training is for people who want to take responsibility
as a Commissioned leader in Girls' Brigade.
They
also are appointed formally by the Church, and following CRB
(Criminal Records Bureau) checks they will need to

Show an understanding of the
responsibilities of Christian leadership
-
Have an understanding of how
children or young people develop
-
Be aware of their pastoral
responsibilities including those relating to child protection
-
Develop practical skills relevant
to their role
In order for leaders to work
effectively Girls' Brigade has developed some training, which
comprises of the following modules;
Developing
Christian Leadership Module
Helping young people develop
faith
Understanding Children OR Understanding Young
People
Developing relationships Module
Pastoral Care Module
Brigade Knowledge Module
Practical Skills Module
Planning
a programme unit
Leading Worship unit
This
training is flexible to incorporate the skills, which people may
already have acquired.
Our
Leadership training this year is being held at Tonbridge Baptist
Church over the 24/25th
November weekend
